Nestled in the heart of San José, Hotel Grano de Oro is an oasis of elegance and exclusivity, blending the charm of a Victorian mansion with modern luxury and comfort. Since its opening in December 1991, it has been a benchmark in high-end hospitality, offering an unparalleled experience for discerning travelers.

A Legacy of Sophistication and Excellence

The hotel began with just 21 rooms, a boutique, and a cozy café. Thanks to its unique character and exceptional service, it quickly became one of the city’s most sought-after accommodations, attracting both travelers and aficionados of refined living.

In 1994, the hotel expanded following the acquisition of a second mansion belonging to the renowned Pozuelo family. This transformation increased its offering to 34 elegant rooms, introduced a rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi, and unveiled the Vista de Oro Suite, a true architectural gem with breathtaking views of the Central Valley’s city lights.

The hotel’s restaurant also evolved, achieving international acclaim with the arrival of French chef Francis Canal Bardot. Together with the owners, he redefined the hotel’s culinary identity, crafting an innovative and exquisite menu. Today, the restaurant is a destination in itself, renowned for its refined cuisine and award-winning wine cellar.
